I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Lyngen Husky Safari—it was exceptional in every way. This family-run business, established about four years ago, truly exceeded my expectations and offered incredible value for money.

From the moment we arrived, they ensured our comfort by providing warm jackets, pants, and boots, so I never felt cold, even in the snowy conditions. I also appreciated that they thought ahead—my clothes stayed clean and free of hair from the deer skins on the sleds.

The huskies were not only friendly but also full of personality, adding to the charm of the experience. The scenery? Absolutely breathtaking—like something out of a postcard.

To top it all off, we were treated to an exceptionally delicious meal afterward, featuring fish soup, fresh bread, hot chocolate, and a classic Norwegian dessert. It was the perfect way to end an unforgettable adventure.

This was hands down one of the best excursions I’ve ever booked, both in terms of fun and value. Lyngen Husky Safari is a top-notch operation, and I can’t recommend them enough!

The husky safari tour was just amazing! Due to the Polar night we decided to go for the morning tour to see the amazing scenery with some light. The explanation was good and clear, the huskies were friendly and VERY energetic and the tour (approx 13 km) had good views and different terrains. Also, it is a family-company and therefore not focused on large volumes (and low quality). Would definitely recommend booking this tour!

We had a great time dog sledding at Lyngen Safari from friendly hosts, through greeting and harnessing the Alaskan Huskies and the ride itself. They only take small groups - we were two pairs. The scenery is beautiful. The ride itself was just over an hour with the opportunity to swap musher/passenger at the half way point.
Good gear available (keeps the dogs off your own clothes). Topped off with a warm snack (we had a delicious fish soup) and a hot drink at the end.

Two weeks ago we booked the afternoon Tour and had a great time with the huskies. We arrived and got an brief instruction. Afterwards we were able to make ou own sledge ready, includingtie up the dogs. The tour was about an hour

The tour lasted about an hour and took us through a magical landscape. At the end we had a delicious soup in the grill house.

It was undoubtedly one of the best tours we have ever done. You can tell that the welfare of the dogs is the focus here! We can recommend it to anyone!

Great experience and lovely staff! There was not enough snow to go on the sleds but we had an excellent visit with the huskies. The dogs are very playful and we learned a lot from the guide. They provide you with boots and snow gear. We also had hot chocolate and cookies by a fire in the hut.

Die Hundeschlittentour war einfach überwältigend! Da wir bereits vor einigen Jahren eine Tour in Schweden unternommen hatten, freuten wir uns besonders, diesmal mit zwei Freunden dabei zu sein. Nach einer kurzen Einführung durften wir - anders als bei unserer ersten Tour - die Hunde selbst für unseren Schlitten vorbereiten. Dies war ein besonderes Highlight, da wir so vorab eine persönliche Bindung zu unseren Hunden aufbauen konnten.

Das Wichtigste: Die Hunde hatten sichtlich Spaß! Und die anschließende Fahrt durch die spektakuläre Landschaft ist definitiv ein Erlebnis fürs Leben!

Zur Halbzeit wechselten wir die Fahrerpositionen und brachten später die Hunde selbst zu ihren Plätzen zurück. Den Abschluss bildete eine gemütliche Einkehr in der Grillhütte mit warmer Suppe und Kakao.

Besonders erfreulich war auch die Möglichkeit zur spontanen Teilnahme und die durchweg herzliche Kommunikation. Ein rundum perfekter Tag, danke!

Großartig geführte Hundeschlittentour. Sehr nah an den Tieren, man fährt seinen eigenen Schlitten und hilft beim Nachbereiten der Hunde - viel Hundegeknuddel inklusive. Sehr nette und auskunftsfreudige Guides. Wir hatten superviel Spaß!

Update drei Jahre später: wir waren noch einmal in den wunderbaren Lyngenalpen und haben noch einmal eine Hundeschlitten-Tour gemacht - und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wieder hat es unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht, wieder haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

We had a great time with Lyngen Safari and their furry team! Truly a highlight of our Northern trip, it was a lot of fun. The dogs are very friendly, happy and excited to go on the trip with you. There was a possibility to prepare them for the ride on your own, lots of petting and husky noises guaranteed. The staff was great, very professional, patient and welcoming. We have also received a tasty soup and additional snacks (thank you Victoria for introducing us to lefse!). If you plan dogsledding near Tromsø, we really recommend this place!
