This was by far the best stay we had in Norway. The location is absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the fjord with stunning views from the rooms — many with private balconies. We were even given a complimentary room upgrade, which made the experience feel extra special.

The staff were the friendliest we met anywhere in Scandinavia, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The hotel also offers free parking, and the breakfast was hands down the best we had on our trip — fresh, varied, and of exceptional quality.

Everything about this stay was perfect, from the service to the scenery. Highly recommend this hotel if you want a truly memorable experience in Norway.

Great one night stay.

We loved:
- The view from the jacuzzi
- The ability to order drinks straight to the jacuzzi via QR code
- Complimentary upgrade to a room with a view (offseason hah)
- Incredible breakfast (waffles = crispy and delicious, fresh fruit)

We would have changed:
- Allow guests to change hot tub temperature (it was too hot at 38.5 degrees)
- Parking was a pain (if you arrive late you will park way down the hill)
- Shuttle stops running at 6 PM, which makes it hard to get to and from downtown

I had an excellent stay. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my visit. My room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The location was perfect. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.I would definitely stay here again.

Our 7th floor room was spotless, comfortable, and the balcony overlooked the fjord. Coffee,tea, and water available in the lobby. We had 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner buffet in the Hyskge dining room. Delicious food,attentive service, and sweeping views over the fjord.|We used the shuttle and the car charging station. Staff were professional and friendly throughout our stay. We enjoyed talking to the owner and hearing about his history with this wonderful family business.|One suggestion-provide robes in the rooms. It would have been nice to have at no charge when making visits to the hot tub.

Amazing location and gorgeous view, we are blown away by the hospitality of all staff members.

The food at restaurant was great, the distillery bar is a lovely place to chill out and relax over a drink. Their own gin was delightful. The jacuzzi was very welcomed after a long day of walking and kayaking.

We would come back and stay here in a heart beat. Thank you for making our holiday so special.

We kregen pas om 16 uur onze kamersleutel, omdat de schoonmaak nog niet klaar was. Beetje bijzonder, want 15 uur inchecken is 15 uur inchecken lijkt mij. Ook geen excuus of dergelijke.

Kamers zijn toe aan renovering, ook was de kamer niet heel schoon ( tijdnood? ). Als je een goedkopere kamer hebt, krijg je een kamer met uitzicht op de parkeerplaats en kunnen andere hotelbezoekers letterlijk voor je raam langslopen en naar binnen kijken.

Jacuzzi’s op het dek zijn prachtig, maar worden ook niet heel goed schoongehouden.. zonde!

Ontbijt is heel goed en lekker. Ook lief personeel bij het ontbijt en alles werd hier goed aangevuld en bijgehouden.

Really enjoyed our stay, room on 6th floor with great views of fjord. Room and bathroom although on the small side was functional. Dyson fan/heater helps keeps temperature in the room comfortable. We were during the shoulder season so Geiranger was kinda quiet, but parking at hotel did fill up pretty quick in the evening.||Breakfast spread was one the better on this trip.

Absolutely loved this hotel, our room and their warm, welcoming staff! We enjoyed staying at Grande Fjord Hotel’s Skaggen suite for a few days. The view is gorgeous and the suite is big, but cozy. It was really clean, had some basic amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, coffee maker/hot water dispenser and silverware/dishware for eating in the room). It was nice to come back and just relax after a long day of hiking. The breakfast buffet was great and had a lot of options for people with various dietary needs. There’s a 24/7 coffee/hot chocolate machine at the lobby. My only complaint is that our suite was multiple floors from the reception which one of the days we had to climb up a lot of stairs to get breakfast when the elevator was broken, but honestly it wasn’t bad because it was fixed by the time we had to check out and bring our luggage up. I’m also used to climbing a lot of stairs in Europe so no big deal.
The location is a little further from city center, but they have a shuttle. We just had to call and let them know we’d like a ride to and from city center and they were able to pick us up and drop as off within 30 minutes of calling. Its distance also meant we were far enough away from any noise. It’s so serene which made it so easy to relax.
All the staff were super friendly and responsive. We felt well taken care of our entire stay. I recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Geiranger for their vacation.
