We had an amazing and highly personalized experience. The hospitality and warmth at this hotel were unlike any we have experienced in our travels. The heart and soul of Lindis, the owner and proprietor, are reflected throughout the hotel, from the homemade soap and shampoo, to the alpaca duvets, to the carefully curated gift shop. We were even invited to feed the resident alpacas! Lindis herself was our tour guide and she spent an entire day immersing us in her culture and gorgeous environment and sharing her extensive knowledge. She is also a gourmet chef and curated healthy and delicious meals that included vegetables from the hotel's gardens. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend.

After staying in a number of big hotels along side bus groups, this was a treat. Located on a hill above town it was quiet with our slider open all night. A wonderful dinner and breakfast with other guests provided a time to compare adventures. Bestebakken was a highlight of our accommodations and wish we had been booked into similar BnBs along the way. Definitely a hidden gem with a friendly staff and Alpacas in the back yard. Relax here in the solitude after a busy day driving or hiking.

Dette er en plass jeg vil anbefale hvis du er ut etter noe spesielt! Nydelig mat og rene, koselige rom med alpakkadyner (virkelig luksus) trivelige ansatte og ei vertinne som gir så mye av seg selv og viser omsorg for sine gjester slik at man trives fra første stund. Maten er kortreist, mye fra egen hage, rene produkter og rene, nydelige smaker. Flotte omgivelser og og nydelig utsikt over Hafslovatnet. Tusen takk for opplevelsen Lindis og Odd Geir😊😊😊👍

My comming wife and I had the plesure of staying at Bestebakken in the beginning of July. We stayed in the Kristina-House, which is just down the hill from the rest of the hotel. The design of the house was spaceous and luxurious.

The food at the hotel was amazing both morning and evening! Both meals were served as multicourse home made meals with localy sourced ingrediences. One unique detail is that you are seated around a common table with the other guests, making for interesting conversations.

The alpacas at the hotel is ready to greet you and are very friendly, however keep an eye out, they might spit if intimidated.

We also had a nice time riding electric bikes to see Norways oldest stave church (Urnes) and the waterfall "Feigefossen", enabling use to see a lot of nice scenery along the fjord.

Big thanks to Lindis for being a great host and an amazing chef!

Small family run hotel in Hafslo, Norway. Breakfast is served at a table with other traveling guest and the breakfast times change based on other travelers request. There is not a buffet, food is served in a multiple course and Lindis the owner is an incredible cook. If you choose to have dinner you will be charged for drinks even Kamba chi which will be offered but is not clear that there is a charge or what you will be charged until checkout.

The rooms are very comfortable and roomy with unique bedding. There are no blackout shades so a lot of light will come in during the night. At night you can hear farm animals if your windows are open. There are no tv’s in the room.

She has alpacas in a fenced in area that are very friendly. I enjoyed seeing them when we were there. This place is located on a hill will beautiful views. Host gave us amazing suggestions of remote places to travel to.

Fantastisk flott plass. Nydelig mat og godt selskap - servert på langbord i spisestuen. Hyggelig vertskap. Bodde i glasshus som var aldeles nydelig, anbefales. Kommer gjerne tilbake.

What a fantastic place! We stopped in here for a one night stay during our road trip and ended up having the best sleep ever. We booked one of the glass houses and got to hang out with the Alpacas. Would highly recommend getting a glass house! They are well equipped and super comfy, with tons of air flow through them. Don't miss this place if you are touring around Norway!
