I am so happy with choosing Skaret as my residence in Tromso.||First, it is contactless (introvert heaven) ||This is an apartment, you’re getting the hotel’s basic room rate for a spacious studio apartment (depending on what you booked).||I was surprised by how spacious the room is. Clean, Modern, and New.||The apartment has basic necessities. Cutleries, crockery. An Oven (for the frozen pizza) a huge smart tv for a rental? Why not.||You need to bring your own toiletries tho, who forgets their skincare when they travel? The water temp? It’s hot water the moment you turn the knob. It maybe freezing outside but the in-room temperature is always on point.||It’s very convenient communicating with them. I have raised my concerns few weeks before arriving and they are very responsive.||The building is nearby a supermarket, few minutes to all attractions and along the main road so your Aurora tour can drop you at the door afterwards. Public transpo? Stations every corner, but this is a walkable city, you will use the oublic transpo only when you go to the Fjellheisen.||Be wary to read the instructions when you arrive. The mobile app needs getting used to, but it is very convenient and safety driven once you got the hang of it.||Thank you for the team for making sure our stay is comfortable. The job that you do plays a huge part on our experience.

The location is pretty good, and is within 8-10 minutes’ walk from the main street where the stores and eateries are, including the tour agencies where you can book tours to chase the aurora borealis or do dog or reindeer sledding.||There are also three supermarkets nearby and a small Alti mall, and an easy walk to the wharf/quay where you can find 7-11 convenience stores and restaurants.||We had a studio, which was a decent size, while our friends took a two bedder apartment. Both rooms had cooking facilities, a large fridge, as well as a dishwasher. The beds were comfortable, but were rather small for two and were quite soft. Our rooms on the 7 floor had nice views of the surrounding mountains and the harbour.||You need to access the building and room with an app, but that experience was not as good. The app was wonky and at times we could not get into our room. But the staff got us a couple of tokens which enabled quicker and easier access. ||If you get in after 9 pm, entry is through a flight of steps in the basement where you can access the lifts. Those with mobility issues may have difficulties. You are also required to bag your trash and take it down to the basement, but the housekeeping staff were helpful in taking the bags if you leave them outside your room before 9 am.||Do note there is no cleaning or change of towels or bedding etc, but we were there for three days and it was manageable. To use the small shower stall, you have to swing both doors open to create a small space. There is a small room near the 2nd floor office where you can leave your luggage for a few hours after checking out.||Overall, it was a decent stay with easy access to what we needed to do.

Our group stayed here for four nights and we got total of three apartments. Skaret uses a mobile key app system, which was a good concept actually, but unfortunately it did not work well when we were there. We learned that several other guests had the same problem. It was worse for us since when we came back late at night from a tour, there was no one in the office to assist us when our mobile key did not work. I called the landline no. that was provided in their website which connected me to "security" and who just told me to try logging in and out of the app until it worked. We tried for a couple of hours (we logged in and out of the app, and used different phones) before we were able to get in our room again, otherwise we were already preparing to sleep in the hotel lobby. And then after a few days, the hotel sent an email to all guests to inform us that their mobile key system has been having issues. The washing machine and one dryer in the laundry room (which were also connected to an app) also malfunctioned while our group was using them. I ended up paying thrice to use the dryer but our clothes did not dry up even after using it for more than four hours. And when we tried to get help from the office, the lady there at that time told us that she was very busy and that she will call another person to help us, but when that person came, he said we should ask the lady instead :)||I think it is commendable that the apartment is trying to be modern and rely heavily on digital or non-contact processes. But their systems do not appear to be ready at this time, and they need to provide adequate support for guests whenever needed at all times. ||On the upside, the location was good. It is a ten minute walk to the pick up points of the different tours, and there were restaurants and a supermarket (Eurospar) nearby.

Booked an ocean view apartment with two bedrooms, and overall it was a good experience. There are definitely tons of positives to this stay, so I’ll list those first. The location is awesome, and the view from our room was beautiful. The apartment was overall very clean, tidy and spacious. The apartment also came equipped with everything you could need to cook which was a cool bonus! Even a dishwasher! The shower has great water pressure too which was so nice. The building was very quiet and peaceful which was great. I definitely wouldn’t call this a hotel as there’s no real front desk or other hotel-ish features. There were a few things that I was disappointed with that I will now describe. From the beginning I was contacted repeatedly through website that they did not have my contact information. Which was concerning and somewhat stressful as I tried to respond multiple times and kept getting the same response. They wanted me to message them my personal information which I was not comfortable doing as the third party website confirmed that they received it through the booking. So kind of sketchy and confusing? This facility uses an app to unlock everything from your room to the elevator. While cool in theory, it might be a hassle for travelers who do not have cellular data or smart phone use. Additionally, the “lobby” area closes at night until 9 AM. Which means you have to access your room through a separate door and down a set of stairs to the elevator. This was frustrating lugging suitcases up/down a flight of stairs and not suitable for guests with mobility issues? Also, there were numerous signs that guests needed to take out their own trash at checkout, and were not able to adjust the thermostat more than 3 degrees. I felt like the facility should take care of trash in the trash can and not necessarily the guests. Overall not a bad stay! Just not a cozy hotel if that’s what your looking for. Definitely a perfectly fine place to rest your head with tons of space.

Fantastic location -- next to a grocery store, mall and many attractions and restaurants. Apartment is small with limited storage, but very clean and well maintained. The downside was the mobile app. The app was not consistent and not operable for us when we checked out. We couldn't bring our bags to the lobby via the elevator, but instead exited through the back through up the stairs.

Location is convenient and rooms are nice. However, both finding the night entrance and figuring out how to use the app was a bit tricky, a video guide would have been helpful. Note, that not all rooms have an outside view, as they point to the inner courtyard where the Hotpot restaurant is located. Would another time go with a room with sea view.

I stayed here for 5 nights and it was incredible! I don’t understand all these negative reviews. It was in perfect location (2-3 min walk to the local bus stop when coming from airport and short walk to all the tour meeting points). It was clean and had great amenities. The kitchen in my room had a coffee maker, tea kettle, fridge, oven, stove top, sink, dishwasher and all the things you need. (Pots, cutting boards, utensils, scissors, bottle/ wine openers, knives, cups, mugs dishes, etc. I was able to cook meals in there just fine. There’s a grocery store right next to the building and I went there a lot. The room had a drying rack which was helpful for hand washing clothes. There was also towels, body soap, hand soap and dish soap. Great curtains. I didn’t use the app at all. I went to the 2nd floor upon check in (got there on a Monday around 10:30) they let me check in early (nearly 4 hrs early) and they made me a key card to use. I never had any issue getting in the room, building or elevator.

The apartment rooms are nice and comfortable.
Make sure you double check and wash any cutlery provided. Our were dirty - like many different cups and spoons.
We stayed a week, no cleaning service provided, had to ask for a toilet paper and the staff was rather unfriendly, sorry to say.
If you love smell of fried fish and meat in all the corridors you will love this place. The restaurant in the ground floor releases the odour to all upper floors.
Seems like the place is also popular among young adults for a night party. We had to call a guard three times, didn’t help much. No apologies were given.
Generally I would not recommend this place.
