These are the best rooms to view both the northern lights and magnificent scenery from. Top quality heated glass walls and ceiling. Toasty warm but also with air conditioning. Complete with stereo to plug into your device via aux leads. Very modern with nice bathroom and it's own boiler. We were lucky to see the northern lights in many colours first night but even when cloudy the 2nd night we awoke to magnificent views. Nice family feel from the staff who run it. The best, after trying other Aurora cabins in Finland

I was driving today about 12.45 on my way back from the Norwegian-Russian border and I saw the light was on, but no one there. Recently some one said they left and frankly speaking not sure what to give on many unreliable reviews here. Me for fact was there and although was no one there but I think they still rent some rooms maybe restricted for the Omicron Corona new variant It is still so beautiful and if available so I am sure it is worth to visit. Drive safe out there.

Quite a bit out of Kirkenes, so transport/transfers required BUT the staff are lovely and so helpful organising this. Very close to the Russian border if you want to go have a look. My trip was cancelled (not by Sollia) so I didn’t get there - but I saw it. |My room was comfortable and cozy. I could have done my own cooking etc as all facilities were near my room but I did not need to. |The glass cabins were closed for the low season but must be magnificent to lie in bed looking at northern lights in winter or midnight sun in summer. THANK YOU SOLLIA

From the time we arrived until the time we left.....we loved this place ! The views out to the Russian border from our room as well as from the mountain behind us ( we snow shoed up as far as we could go) were spectacular ! Our meal at the restaurant was phenomenal.....and breakfast was a cozy buffet. The rooms were great and toasty warm and the service was as good as it gets. There was a mix up with our room ( not their fault) but they did everything in their power to accomodate us and we loved our stay ! We will definitely return !

We came here and wanted to stay in the Gamme cabins at SnowHotel but they were fully booked ... and I’m glad they were! This place was super cool! We rented one of the Aurora cabins and were fortunate enough to see dancing northern lights both nights .... from bed. Even if we hadn’t though, sleeping under the stars would’ve been experience enough. Staff were friendly, excursions affordable, breakfast (included) was delightful. You can eat while overlooking the Russian border - which is just cool.

We stayed here twice over three nights. Both times we had the same room, we liked it the first time so had it again on our return. We stayed in the cheaper accommodation and had a small double ensuite room with shared kitchen/lounge/dining facilities. ||The Aurora showed briefly on our first night and then not for the rest of our visit in Norway, so be prepared if you are staying in one of the Aurora cabins there is no guarantee and you can view the Aurora from just outside or up the hill behind the accommodation. ||Everything in the shared kitchen was clean and tidy, with washing up liquid, pots and pans and tea towels etc provided. Breakfast was included (continental in style, with the addition of fried eggs) and was excellent, we particularly enjoyed the homemade bread that was still warm! I would highly recommend staying here, as birdwatchers we were pleased to have Pine Grosbeak, Arctic Redpoll and Willow Grouse in the grounds. The addition of bird feeders would probably attract more birds (and birdwatchers)!

Fun hotel with an excursion programme. Friendly, helpful staff. Variety of accommodation types including glass roof cabins. Free breakfast with evening meals on request, self catering facilities also available. Thoroughly recommended for a unique experience 500m from the Russian border.

Sollia is no frills but the staff are amazing, especially Sylvia who provides a wonderful breakfast each day. YOU WILL NEED A CAR though as it is NOT downtown. The staff there went out of their way to make my stay special - always ready to answer questions and even calling ahead to set up an appointment for me elsewhere. Now, this is not the Ritz-Carlton or Oslo Hilton. More of an upgraded bed and breakfast, and the photo above is not an example of all of the rooms. My room was tiny but clean, warm and quite adequate for my four day stay. I would return there anytime.
