We had an INCREDIBLE TIME! Bluebird days for skiing and Northern Lights filled the evening! The staff made it just as special. A very heartwarmed "Thank you!!" to Rina, the hostess at the Camp 291 Lodge. She went above and beyond, making our time in the lodge relaxing and unforgettable. Her warm smile, friendly disposition and prompt service was greatly appreciated. She also brought the Northern Lights to ur attention, going the extra mile and taking us outside to show us where to look. Rina is a gem!!

Camp 291 is a modern, shipping container-like hotel. The location is unbeatable with views of Narvik, the fjord, and being right on the mountain.

The place is small. If you are traveling with luggage, there is no place to unpack or to put your luggage besides the living room / kitchen area.

The bathroom is a shower. You hose down the toilet, sink, etc when you shower. Do not keep toilet paper, towels, or toiletries in there.

The walk from the parking lot is not far, but it can be difficult if it is icy on the paths. It's also not great for bringing larger luggage.

We enjoyed our stay to the fullest with our little one. The views are just increadible.
The best beds we have ever slept in - very comfy. Really cool is the interior and smart light and heat controlling. Also you get a free ride at the gondola when being a guest at Camp 291. Thank you it was really worth it.

Lovely place, amazing views and perfect for the mountain. Place was clean handy to have a kitchen and hob and fridge.

Lacks storage for suitcases and plug were hard to get to in a very compact bedroom, shower over bathroom so everything got wet, but efficient heating so wasn't for long. Get free toiletries which is helpful however everytime you want to wash a glass or dish the dishwasher needs to go on which is unnecessary, would benefit from a little washing up liquid and basics like oil, salt and pepper.

I would recommend and return just some improvements could be made

The cabins are well designed with thoughtful detail. They are cosy and warm.  The views are spectacular! The cabins are pretty well equipped although a toaster would have been appreciated!  The bed also filled the sleeping quarters meaning you could only get into the bed on one side. This could be an issue for some people.  We accessed the cabin on foot from the road which worked well but make sure you take everything you need with you as it's a long walk back to town. When we arrived the gondola up to the mountain restaurant wasn't working becauseof the weather and we were concerned about getting dinner. Thankfully it did reopen but we wished we had taken food with us to cook. The onsite camp lodge offers a bar service at the weekend but doesn't do food. It is worth knowing that as a guest of 291, you get a free return journey on the gondola and 15% off ski hire. We didn't realise this until after we had paid. Mention it in the ski hire shop when you pay.

We spent 2 nights in the cabin291, very good and relaxing experience. Beautiful design, and the view on the fjord and city is dreamy. The cabin is cosy and the design is well done to have all we need in the cabin. Kitchen with fridge, each room (living room, bathroom, bedroom) offers the great view outside. In addition, the cabin is well located, next to the ski resort, next to the city and supermarket, and high enough to enjoy the view feeling far of the city. I do recommend !

Looks good on paper but it's badly executed and incredibly overpriced (at least in the summer, when the ski area is closed so you're not paying for ski-in privileges). Would opt for a junior suite at the Scandic if I'm back in the summer

The "large" cabins are a small 30 sqm, which is equivalent to the size of a single large North American hotel bedroom, yet they cram two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen into this space. As a result, everything is compromised:
• The bathroom doubles as the pathway to the master bedroom and the entire room is also the shower (literally, in the sense you can't store anything in there as it gets wet all over, and you need to manually squeegee its floor afterwards);
• The tiny kitchen area lacks an oven;
• The living room lacks a TV;
• There's no proper place to unpack luggage, and hardly any space to store your stuff;
• The two bedrooms only have place for a bed plus a tiny crawl space around the bed, and there's no bed stands: there's a ledge on the wall for one occupant, the other person has no place to put his or her stuff.

But the killer design error is that the master bedroom has a large skylight that lacks any shading mechanism: the sun shines bright onto the bed all night long (we're North of the Arctic Circle), with such an intensity that even eye masks don't do much. Probably fine in the dark winters, but ... summers happen too, and sleepless summers are not fun.

After staying in this cabin, I am not surprised at all that we were the only occupants during our stay: we were the idiot tourists who fell for the tourist trap. Also not at all surprised that I could not find the cabins listed as a project on Snøhetta's website (the star architects who supposedly designed them).

The plus: an entire wall of extremely large openable panoramic windows with a long balcony from which to see the view (albeit partially obstructed by trees), comfortable bedding, well appointed (including rainshower), well maintained, spotlessly cleaned, and excellent internet (at least when not shared with any other guest?). Plus free lift tickets to the top (although subject to a parking fee).

Views are spectacular. Accommodation spectacular. My only minor constructive criticism would be the light switches/ black control panels are impossible to see maybe if the lettering / symbols were illuminated in some way. I understand why it's dark inside to not obscure the views but i feel it could do with optional extra light somehow. And also maybe a curtain for the kitchen rear glass door for more privacy. But exceptional nevertheless
