Koselig hotell/gjestehus med enkel standard. Overnattet i to netter, fint utgangspunkt for turer i nærheten av Reine. Mulighet for å lage seg enkel mat, er et felles kjøleskap, vannkoker osv. Delt baderom, men pga Covid-19 er det nå ett bad pr rom.

"Hotellets" beliggenhet var perfekt, men inngangen til hotellet var gjennom kjøkkenet og stuen til eieren og hennes gjester og opp en glatt trapp til 3 dobbellt rom. Videre førte en veldig bratt og glatt trapp opp til 3 enkeltrom. Trappen her var sikkerhetsmessig ikke forsvarlig som gangtrapp til beboelserom. Sengene i både dobbelt og enkelt rommene hadde en for dårlig standard og knirket mye. Alle rommene med ca 10 personer delte 1 bad og toalett, så det var viktig å planlegge besøket nøye. Alle rommene hadde et fellesareal i annen etasje, her var det flere interessante bøker. "Hotellet" servert hverken mat eller drikke. Det var mange store fluer i rommene, sannsynligvis fra tørrfisken.

Wonderful cottage with beautiful views and brilliant location
Super Cute , neat and tidy guest house with the perfect location. Cafe next door and a bus stop, convinience store and restaurant right opposite.
The host Jan Alec is very helpful and accommodative and Ronja was extremely kind and supportive throughout the stay. We would highly recommend this property
Everything was wonderful!! Just that the rooms are up the stairs so if you have big suitcases, best to leave them downstairs.

I stayed in Det gamle Hotellet Guesthouse for 2 nights in Reine. The guest house is located right in the center of the charming small town. Restaurants, a bus terminal, a general store are all right in front of the house and also right next to it is the most adorable coffee shop. I stayed in a small room upstairs and the view was simply breathtaking. I could see the mountains, signature red cabins and countless stockfish drying in the sun. It was exactly what I'd hoped to see on Lofoten Islands. ||||The house is cozy, personal and simple with lots of character. It definitely feels like you are staying at someone's house as a guest so I found most guests to be cordial and respectful. The living room, shared bathroom and all the common areas were very clean. I was lucky and did not have any issue but there's only one bathroom for all the guests so you might have to wait at times. ||||The host Lilian is very nice and welcoming. Booking is very easy by emailing her directly and she was always prompt and gave me all the info I needed. ||||It's a perfect place to unwind, relax, and appreciate the natural beauty of Lofoten Islands and just being in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

This guesthouse is located right in the center of Reine. Room #3 looks over the center square, its petrol station and little stores, rather than Room #1 and #2 which, I believe, look over the back fjord and mountains. Other guests mention the warm hospitality of Lilian. For me, she responded if I asked but was otherwise unavailable and not warmly welcoming. I often enjoy having a little conversation with my host/hostess as a part of travel. The room was clean and basic. Even though there are now 2 bathrooms, there were often waits to get access. For an older person, there are two issues to consider: 1. the steps up/down to the 2nd floor are very narrow and steep. I am fit but needed help getting my bag up and down and was always very mindful when on the stairs, and, 2. one of the bathrooms has an awkward access - with a very narrow step - so attentiveness not to fall is required. None of this would keep me from staying there again.
