The Lyngen Experience Lodge exceeded our expectations. We spent 4 nights in January. The staff is lovely. Knowledgeable, kind and hard working; they made us feel right at home. The lodge is very pretty and cozy. Our rooms were not very large, but they were clean and the beds are very comfortable. Honestly, we didn't spend a lot of time in them. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal; the food was absolutely delicious and the chef was very accommodating with our dietary needs. The fish was caught fresh almost everyday by the staff. It was truly outstanding. Errik introduced us to some fantastic wines, champagne and even a local whiskey to compliment our meals. To top it all off, the activities were fantastic! It was such an amazing experience seeing the northern lights. Dog sledding, whale watching and snowmobiling were also great experiences. The lodge also has a lovely sauna overlooking the fjord and outdoor hot tub that you can reserve for your party. I really hope we have the chance to visit again. ||Thank you to all the staff at the Lyngen Experience for making us feel so at home and welcome! Our experience booking the reservation, the airport transfers, tours and service at the lodge was top notch.

My wife and I just returned from a Northern Norway vacation including a 3 day stay at the wonderful Lyngen Experience Lodge. The Lodge is first rate, with an attentive and engaging staff and outstanding fine dining. They hooked us up with terrific adventures - snowmobiling and dog sledding in the picturesque Lyngen Alps as well as an evening Northern Lights quest with our own guide. Everything you need to enjoy this unique geography is provided and an afternoon sauna overlooking the fjord completes your stay. Many thanks to our magnificent host Eric, their CEO Susann, and all the staff at the lodge for a truly memorable “Lyngen Experience”.

A really comfortable 9 room hotel with unsurpassable views across the fjord from the lounge, bedroom, sauna and jacuzzi. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The food was excellent and beyond compare with special dietary needs taken into account in planning the menu for the day. Staff really friendly and helpful. The restaurant manager would come and sit and chat with us as if we were friends or family and at check-out bade us farewell in the same manner. It felt so exclusive and we were treated as if we were.

An amazing lodge with the most helpful and kind staff. We stayed here for three nights over New Years time and were blown away. The care the team puts into everything was so appreciated, Eric and Suzanne are amazing! The food that was put together every night and morning was five star and included 4 to 5 courses. It was relaxing and the excursions were remarkable! They make sure none of the tour groups are large so it all feels intimate. We went dog sledding and whale watching and would recommend it. Seriously can't think of a bad thing from our stay and would recommend this lodge to anyone!

We just spent 3 nights at Lyngen Experience Lodge in July 2023. The majority of our stay was top notch but the room was lacking. First, the not so great. The rooms were quite small and extremely sparse. We were given the choice of two rooms when we arrived, one with a view, but so small that we would not have had any room to put our luggage and the other room which was slightly larger, but had no view - and actually was right by where people walked by to enter the lodge, so they can look in at eye level. It was not that busy when we were there, so this wasn’t too big of an issue. My husband wanted the larger room so we went with that. They also did not do any kind of room cleaning or changing of towels, etc. Luckily the credenza with extra towels was right across from our room so we were able to get extra towels when we needed. Also, the man and woman running the place often had to run out and get things or do other things, so when we first arrived we came about 10 mins or so earlier than we had said, and no one was there and everything was locked up, so kind of wasn’t sure if we were even in the right place.||||Now for the good. The man and woman managing the place (I’m sorry I know I would completely butcher the spelling of their names so won’t even try) were delightful and extremely nice and kind. He is from Sri Lanka and she was from Lithuania. They are willing to do anything and everything for you - and they do do everything - check you in, clean the place, make you drinks and make all the meals for you - and they were fabulous cooks!! I mean the food was incredible!! much better than I was expecting based on the rooms. The place was not super busy while we were there - maybe just 2-4 rooms occupied each night, so maybe during busier season they have more people helping.||||The common spaces are also very nice, with really spectacular views a nice jacuzzi and sauna. Also the activities that were planned for us were also top notch. Great boat ride with Capt Tommy on his fabulous boat out in the fjords with a stop at the Aurora distillery for a tour, tasting and lunch. Then boated to a small community Havman (?) which was great to walk around and learn the history. We really enjoyed our day with him. Then the next day we had a great hike with the lady who is the CEO of Lyngen Experience which was great and we really enjoyed the hike and visiting with her. ||||The breakfast is also great with all kind of meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, yogurt and they will make you eggs to order. Some good things about the room was there was a nice full length mirror and a lot of outlets, and great black out curtains - which was really helpful as where were there during the midnight sun and the sun never sets! They also had a washer and dryer which they let us use, which was extremely helpful for us.||||So, as you can see overall it was a wonderful stay - our only disappointment was in the small and sparse rooms, but tbh it ultimately did not spoil our stay and we really had an incredible time. Didn’t spend too much time in the room due to the activities and great common spaces. Just want to be sure others have a sense for the rooms when booking. ||||Lastly, I encourage more people to come up here in the summer. We had great weather (low 60’s and sunny), stunning scenery and nature and lots of great outdoor activities to do.

I am not normally thinking "I must post a review online" as soon as I leave somewhere but this place is something special. I cannot thank Alice, Elise, Kjetil and all the team enough for the holiday of a lifetime. The lodge itself is wonderfully designed and cosy and the food is great too - but the people there make it special. It felt like I was a guest in someone's home and the whole vibe was just lovely. The attention to detail is superb and they only have a small number of rooms so they take time to get to know the guests even in a short stay and they give you all the information you need for any activities and work with really experienced local guides - but the whale watching trip is second to none. As we discovered - the type of boat and your skipper make ALL the difference. Many trips out of Tromso have huge boats with lots of people and cannot get so close to the whales - or you are in a small "rib" boat where you are in the open air and it's very cold (of course). Lyngen Experience have their own luxurious boat that had a lovely indoor cabin but outside viewing as well so best of both worlds and not more than a few guests on each trip. They also have all the gear you need (really - balaclavas, gloves, hats, goggles, boots, snow suits - saves on packing and expense if you don't have your own snow gear - we had some - but also used some of theirs). They even habve their own yurt a short way up the hillside My wife and I will definitely be going back. Thank you so much Lyngen Experience! Also I must add the team had people who speak English, Italian, German, Swedish and Norwegian!
