We have just come back from Isbreen and it was one of the best experiences of our lives. From the moment you arrive to the time you leave you are treated like the most welcome friends, nothing is too much trouble and everything has a wonderful personal touch. Amelie, Grete, Lars, Sarah and the team were absolutely wonderful. The accomodation was spotless and so comfortable, the food was lovingly prepared and was amazing - absolutely everything you ate was exuded home cooking and was freshly prepared. The whole experience was simply stunning and we really didn’t want to leave. We whole-heartedly recommend Isbreen - you most definitely won’t be disappointed.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was fantastic.

The igloos are so cozy. The activities organised were great and enabled us to meet locals. The meals were simply exceptionals, with an emphasis on local products.

The overall service was outstanding.

This is really a special place that we strongly recommend you to visit.

Words cannot express how truly magical this place is. We traveled with 3 other couples and had the trip of a lifetime. From the moment we were met at the airport, our every need was taken care of. The igloos are so special, you have to see them to believe them. Mira and Tonny, Emily and the chefs took such good care of us. The food! Incredible! Gourmet every night with wine pairings and every ingredient (almost all local) explained. Our activities included: a boat trip under the northern lights, kayaking (yes even in February it was amazing), snowmobiling, dog sledding, and a sleigh ride. All of the local guides was so kind, they welcomed us into their homes and told us all about their culture and families. It was such a wonderful and special trip, we hated to leave!

Our stay at Isbreen the Glacier was one of our top 4 travel stays/experiences - up there with Singita Sabora Tented Camp, Rosewood San Miguel Allende and Bauer B&B in Aqcui Terme, Italy (sadly no longer there). We can not speak highly enough about the owners Mira and Tonya, the chef, Kevin and sommelier Emily. First off the igloos themselves are decorated beautifully and are so comfortable and the view from our igloo was astounding. We could have spent all day in bed looking at the view but too much else to do and explore!! Starting off with the fabulous breakfasts - a plethora of hot and cold items - biscuits, sautéed vegetables, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses, cereal, eggs, yogurt, porridge, delicious berries and always a “sweet treat” such as the best berry crisp, pancakes, etc. My husband is gluten free and dairy free and they did an incredible job of baking the most delicious gf baked goods and always having alternatives for him.||They only have 4 igloos and two were being renovated while we were there, so my husband and i were the only people staying there, but I know they would all give the same attention and kindness even if fully booked. ||We were there in the summer (July) and i strongly suggest going there in the summer when the natural beauty is stunning and so many things to do that they can plan for you. We did a short (on electric bikes) ride to meet our hiking guide to walk up the steep side to a cave/crevice where a family had hidden when the Germans invaded in WWII. Combining history and adventure was perfect for us. When we arrived back mid-afternoon, Kevin and Mira were outside preparing an incredible lunch for us to be cooked over the open fire, and we were lucky enough to have such great weather that we could dine outside.||The next day we did a hike with huskies with Gabriel, their other chef who owns the huskies and was taking a break from his chef duties at Isbreen for a few weeks. It was a wonderful hike and he cooked us lunch over a fire pit at the top of our hike. After that a RIB boat excursion to the glacier (Tonny’s dad is the boat captain) where we learned about the history there and got to see our first reindeer. Overall another wonderful day out exploring. And so great to be able to come back to our cozy igloo and rest up before our truly gourmet dinners, made with exceptional care not only of the food but how it was displayed/served from our chef, Kevin. Emily, the sommelier always planned wonderful wine pairings for my husband, and i don’t drink but she had planned great juice/sparkling drinks, etc pairing for me which was such a nice surprise!!||During our stay there was road work being done on the road to Isbreen from the main highway. It was expected to be completed before we arrived but of course the completion date was extended. This caused the road to be closed for up to 6 hrs each day (open before 10am and then closed until 4pm). I can’t even imagine how disruptive it was for all of them, but the whole team worked on the logistics to be sure it didn’t disrupt our stay unnecessarily, making some tweaks to our schedule, but not effecting us negatively. I know it was a lot of extra work from them, and just want to mention it as it was the type of hard work and kindness they showed during our stay.||We loved our stay here so much, we are hoping to plan a trip there in the winter sometime to see the northern lights, go dog sledding and whale watching. Anyone who knows me, knows I don’t like the cold, but this place was so special I am excited to return!!

We had the most spectacular time at Isbreen. Mira and Tonny welcomed us as family: happy to see us ever day, happy to make our time as wonderful as we wanted. They saved our vacation before even meeting us, by contacting our travel agent in anticipation of a storm, urging them to change our travel plans. We weathered the arctic storm in romantic style and comfort in a truly stunning setting. They managed our activities (whale watching, reindeer, Sami, etc.) to accommodate the change in plans. Seamlessly. Their staff (young, interesting, adventurous) drove us around, fed us and entertained us. And Mira and Tonny are real super star hosts.

Our “igloo” was a highly insulated geodesic dome with skylights and large windows from which we could see the fjord. Our first night the Northern Lights appeared, which we could first see from our windows, and then just a step outside. Our hosts were outstanding, and amazing chefs to boot! The arranged activities were fun and interesting, but best of all was meeting the other guests, as we dined a different times but communally. It’s quite a ways from anything else, but it’s amazing, unique and I can’t wait to return.

Mira and Tonny and their exceptionally talented and wonderful crew are going to make your stay here a special one. The lodging itself is truly unique. Inside the domes, every detail is luxurious and well planned. My only minor quibble is that on the rare occasion you are visiting on a hot day it can get extremely hot inside, and a mesh window or two probably wouod have solved that. Otherwise, wow. Really cool place. Totally different than anywhere else we stayed in Norway. The attention to the culinary arts up at the main lodge is also worth a special note, definitely a real treat to have such high level cuisine out in such a remote area, it was like having our own private chef. Tonny was very helpful in recommending activities and very flexible. His connection to the area and with locals really accentuated our experience. They were all very flexible and went above and beyond to make our experience a great one. Highly recommended.

This stay / experience is ONCE IN A LIFETIME and deserves more than 5 stars! Cheers to Mira and Tony, the lovely couple who runs the place, for not only giving a luxury stay and amazing amenities but even more so for their above and beyond service. They truly make you feel at home: fun storytelling, a remote intimate beautiful location, and delicious home cooked meals everyday. On the last note, the meals here are borderline Michelin level amazing - for real Mira makes some mean salmon and the chef they have on hire uses fresh local ingredients everyday to feel fully immersed in Norwegian cuisine (and health :)). With the great guidance of Mira and Tony, they took us on many adventures like kayaking across the glacier, dog sledding with a friend of theirs, and snow shoeing at night to gaze at the Northern Lights! When we weren’t adventuring in the Norwegian beauty that sat right outside our dome, the dome itself was spacious, warm, well decorated, and perfectly situated with its outdoor patio & chairs to look up at the Northern Lights. The main house where the kitchen and living room and sauna is at is modern, cozy, and just as gorgeous. I seriously can go on and on about how this was THE best trip of my life (March 2022) and I owe a huge thanks to Isbreen the Glacier and Mira & Tony ❤️
